Habits

Hey friends, it has been a while since I have spoken to you guys, but so much has changed. Ive changed so many of my habits in the past year or so. Ive been taking better care of my body, brushing my teeth and showering daily, going to the gym, and eating healthier (which has resulted in a whole jean size down!). Ive been learning how to love myself again and in that the one habit I have noticed has changed my outlook on life the most is my habit of thought. By changing something so small as the way I think about myself. From wow I really am stupid for doing that or thats a really dumb idea. I change it to that was a mistake I wont make again or I am glad I tried that, but the consequence is not worth the reward. I slip up sometimes in fact just the other day I was talking to a friend of mine asking her why i had stayed in my abusive relationship for so long and called myself stupid. She stopped me and said “I understand you do, but part of healing and growing is understanding that those things had to happen in order for you to be the person you are today, and the person you will be tomorrow. Does it suck? of course it does, but at the end of the day we are able to process and see “hey I needed to go through that because now I have set sturdier boundaries for myself”.” When I read that I nearly teared up. At that moment I realized that not only is healing and growing part of your mindset, but its also apart of the journey that God, the universe or whatever you believe in has put us on this earth to endure. All of this to say that if you change your perspective on the thoughts you have. Studies show that your perspective will change the 98% of thoughts we have everyday. Heres. a challenge for everyone reading this. Take 5 minutes in your day and write down 5 things you’re grateful for for 30 days. its better if you have a journal to keep track of your progress.
